Azets Ireland host our official launch event

Yesterday, we were delighted to host our annual event, entitled Igniting Ambition | Fuelling Growth, this year to celebrate the official launch of Azets Ireland.

There was a great turn out at the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin to hear a panel discussion with key local representatives who exchanged ideas & insights on what fuels growth during these rapidly changing times.

As well as the engaging discussions and examples from some of our clients on what it takes to achieve outstanding entrepreneurial success, we also launched a new survey which reveals the main challenges facing Irish SMEs and the opportunities that lie ahead for the sector. The survey featured over 200 responses from senior SME decision leaders across Ireland between April and May 2023 and produced some really insightful results, which Alma O'Brien, our Head of Tax, examined.

Fergal O’Brien of Ibec then gave a great insight into the positive economic outlook, the impact of factors including ESG, AI and automation, and how to sustain growth over the coming years.

The event was rounded out brilliantly by our guest speakers; Gus McCarthy, Brian Gleeson and Sam Prendergast – recent Gland Slam winning U20 Ireland rugby internationals, who spoke about the collaboration, drive and high-performing teamwork it takes to be successful, and the importance of sparking the ambition of our future generations.

Neil Hughes, our CEO, said: “We had a fantastic evening hosting our clients, contacts and friends at the Shelbourne, where we discussed the challenges, client success stories and positive outlook for the SME landscape in Ireland.

We were fortunate to have our colleagues over from the UK, including Jeremy Fearnley, Group Head of M&A, to further introduce the Azets brand and speak to the reasons why the Irish marketplace was so attractive to the group.

Despite the fact that our recent survey results show inflation is proving to be a significant challenge for SMEs, it’s encouraging to see SMEs remain optimistic about the future of their business and committed to driving innovation to fuel growth.

As the SME sector is the backbone of the Irish economy, it was great to have the opportunity to exchange insights and opportunities for Irish SMEs as they continue to build their resilience and adapt to a rapidly evolving world.”

A massive thank you also to all our clients, colleagues and friends for attending.
